Viral Marketing and Project 3
The Wikipedia entry on viral marketing makes us think. Most of us probably do not think of everything that goes on behind our interactions on a day to day basis. We are constantly being “attacked” by advertisements and marketing techniques with almost everything we do: text, email, post, comment, share, and so on. We even form part of this marketing without even noticing it. This entry also makes me think about project 3. Though we do not usually think about how we are sort of used as puppets, project 3 makes us get in the mind of the puppeteers (marketing teams). As the entry says, we have to think about our audience (the messengers) and our environment when we choose our genres. It is interesting that we have been mentioning the importance of the audience throughout the entire semester, and that it is not only applicable to a professional setting. They are indispensable when trying to get a message through. In addition, it talks about how e should always try to implement or create a new technique or to present something in a completely different way. This way the viewer will most probably be intrigued or shocked and enticed to share with others. We should definitely think about this when creating our project three in order to make it more appealing and unique.
